Jan. 23,1854 Thomas Price to John Benjamin-1823

Waltham
January 23rd, 1854
Dear John,
We have received your kind favor of the 10th inst. and very happy to know of your safe arrival at home and that you have not suffered in consequence of the severity of the weather. We have received your papers and the Water Cure journal which required a special kindness on the part of Mrs. Benjamin.  We hope at a future day to have an opportunity of returning your good will.
In about a week after you were at Waltham, Captain and Mrs. Might and son paid us a visit.  The regard we have for that family is great and I believe they have the same regard for us.
In business matters we are doing just the same as when you was here.  It is reported they are going to have their bedsteads made up country in Vermont somewhere near Rutland.  Dan Stratton has been there nearly all of last week.  He came home to consult his co-partners and is going there again tomorrow.  Their object is to get water power, cheap lumber, and probably some of their hands cheap.  We expect to know more about it by and by.
I have forgotten about Fishers Express.  When you write next please let me know how I am to see about sending the two books to you. I am very glad of the opportunity of sending them along with the books that you are sending to Mr. Gleave.  I think I should be going to Boston in about a fortnight when I will get them.
I hope you all are in good health as we are at present, thank God.  And write in kind regards to you Mrs. Benjamin and baby and Edwin.   Please write again soon.
With kind regard,
Yours,
Tomas Price
